Last summer (Australian summer!), we went to Melbourne to attend my lady's brother's graduation ceremony. And for someone who has never been to Australia before, I begged my lady to extend our stay in Australia so we have time to explore the city which she has spent her five years studying in. Of course, 14 days would be a bit too long for us to explore Melbourne, so we actually planned to go out from the city during our 2-week trip.
Tasmania is an island located at Southern part of Australia, and is well known for its nature and beautiful scenery. Naturally, it became part of our itinerary during our visit to Southern Australia. In our opinion, 4D3N is quite a comfortable duration to spend in Tasmania, provided that we were not planning to have a long trekking session.
We started our journey of Tassie at Launceston (direct flight from Melbourne city) and end at Hobart (direct flight to Melbourne from Hobart). We have visited Wineglass Bay, Cradle Mountain and Hobart city during the stay.
Map shows our planned road trip. Refer to: https://www.google.com/maps/d/edit?mid=zNACaRsxHRSU.kDBpTx3HWod0 |
As shown in the map above,
Day 1 (A-B): Reached Launceston Airport at 1pm and drive to Bicheno (near Freycinet National Park)
Day 2 (B-C): Visited Wineglass Bay and drive to Waratah (near Cradle Mountain)
Day 3 (C-D): 1 Day Trip at Wineglass Bay and drive to Hobart (D)

In following posts, we will write in details for each of our destinations, accommodations and lesson learnt from our trip. So you can learn from our mistakes. And hope our posts could help you in planning your trip to Tasmania :)
